Introducing Polly Word Cloud in MS Teams Meetings
Capture the collective voice of your organization with Word Clouds—ideal for brainstorming, retrospectives, or team reflections in meetings:
- Gather open‐ended responses to prompts or questions
- Auto‐generated cloud highlights the most common words or themes
- Encourages reflective discussion among widely distributed teams
Note ✏️: Word Cloud pollys are currently available in MS Teams meetings only. Channel support is coming soon.
Authoring a Word Cloud Polly

Setting up a Word Cloud polly for the meeting:
Make sure you have Polly added to the meeting:
- Click on the Polly tab on the top
- Access the Polly dashboard on the right and click on Word Cloud
- The creation screen will open up, the open ended question type will be pre-selected with the "Display results as word cloud" checkbox already checked.
- Type in your question and click Save.
- Review the question, click edit if you want to make any changes, when you are ready, hit the blue Save button.
- This will bring you to the main panel again with your polly queued. When you are ready to publish it just click on the Send button.
Setting up a Word Cloud polly directly in the meeting chat:
Make sure you have Polly added to the meeting:
- Go to the meeting chat and click on the Polly tab on the top
- Click on the blue Create button on the top right, from the creation modal click on Create New and then on Word Cloud
- Type in your question and click Save
- Review the question, click edit if you want to make any changes, when you are ready, hit the blue Save button.
- You will be re-directed to the Polly dashboard with a list of your queued and live pollys. When you are ready to publish, hit the blue Send button.
Results:
You can view the results in a number of ways:
- The Polly side panel will show the word cloud being updated in real time as people vote.
- Clicking on the Results Details button will show you respondent data and the related submissions.
- Access the Polly dashboard by clicking on the Polly button on the left hand navigation bar, use Meetings filter to just see pollys created in meetings. Your word cloud polly will also show up here with the first 5 responses listed on the polly card. To view more detail, click on the View Results button.
