Billing FAQs

What is a participant, and what do the limits mean?

A participant is someone that responds to a survey. In our plans if you see "up to 50 participants" that implies that the survey is limited to 50 unique survey participants per survey.

The response limit is applied on a per survey basis, not across an entire month, or series. 

We offer additional participants at a small cost for the Pro plan - which you can choose during checkout.

What is a response limit, and what does it mean?

The response limit is per user, per month. 

For users on the free plan, that means that each user can accumulate a total of 1,000 responses per month. 

A response is counted as a "completion" of a survey – so I have completed a total of 4 surveys in a month, that is counted as 4 surveys. 

We do not count responses to individual questions within a survey as unique responses. An example would be if I filled out a 5 question survey, I am only counted as one response and not 5 responses. 

I'm on a legacy plan that isn't listed here. What will happen to my account?

Not to worry, you won't be affected at all by the new pricing! We will still support your legacy plan, and now offer even greater customization and flexibility if you need to make changes to your plan.

Can I pay via invoicing?

We support billing by invoice with net 30 payments, but only for annual agreements for larger custom plans. Please get in touch with us at contact@polly.ai if you prefer invoicing.

If you are on any of the self-serve plans – Agile, Leader, or Pro – we require a credit card to be on file, where you will be automatically billed at the end of the monthly billing cycle. Following the standard checkout procedure will allow you to add a credit card on file.

How can I cancel/pause my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time, and you will have access to your plan features until the end of the current billing period.

To cancel, we ask that you please reach out to contact@polly.ai or on our live chat to get the process going. We typically have a response time of up to ~6 hours and can get it processed ASAP. To ensure you won't get billed, please reach out at least 48 hours before your next due date.

If you'd like to pause your subscription, please reach out to us and we'll get it taken care of.

When I upgrade, is everyone else still allowed to send polls?

Yes, one-off polling with no restriction on responses is available to all users regardless of your subscription.

With your author license, you will have access to premium features that correspond to your paid tier, but others will be limited to the free polling functionality.

Can I buy a license so everyone on my team gets access to authoring features?

Yes - you can purchase up to 3 licenses on either of the self-serve plans.

We need Polly to complete a security questionnaire before we can consider making a purchase.

We're more than happy to complete a security questionnaire for customers considering an Enterprise plan. We can also make available reports from our most recent 3rd party security audit and pentest, upon request.

Do you offer discounts for non-profits and educational groups?

Yes, we do! We offer 50-75% off for eligible educational institutions and non-profits.

Eligible Educational institutions:

  • Non-profit educational institutions
  • Accredited primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions 
  • Student groups from any of the above 

Eligible non-profit institutions must hold a valid charitable status with either the IRS (in the United States), a local tax service/charity commission, or a local TechSoup Global partner.
